Round One French elections. I find it truly amazing how close the polls were for the French results from even a  month ago to the actual results! (Unlike the Trump surprise or the Brexit upset.) French Elections The French elections are being closely followed by the international press.  Interest is very high given the specter of a 'Frexit' in the event of Marine Le Pen being elected. The above video by the British humorist, John Oliver—who runs a weekly, satirical TV news show from NYC, gives a comprehensive summary of the issues, the actors and the stakes. I hope that no one is shocked by his occasional use of bad language.
